While there are many
3rd party power supplies out here with comparable
specs for less money, however:
We have found that these power supplies don’t often
deliver what they say, leading to printer outages,
and (more inscrutable), intermittent printer errors.
Thermal printers require peak power from the supply
when printing at maximum speed ,and certain
interfaces, especially Ethernet and wireless, have
significant power needs. Clone supplies often don't
have adequate headroom to deliver.
Use the right power supply for the printer and be
wary of unknown 3rd party supplies that may or may
not deliver what they say. Buy new or refurbished
Epson power supplies to be sure.
